Weapons and Bugging Out.
This subject has been on my mind a lot. OK folks I know most of you don't plan on bugging out, but you really should have a back up plan just in case you do need to get the hell out of town. What we are going to be talking about today is the best all around weapon to have with you when you do bug out. This weapon needs to meet certain requirements and do it;s job well. I am still undecided on which weapon best suits that purpose. This weapon needs to meet all the requirements and do them all well. The reason behind this is you can only carry so much weight and afford so much space when you are on the move.
Lets start with a list of requirements that we need in this weapon.
1. It needs to be easy to conceal.
2. It needs to be of a very common caliber.
3. It needs to be something that can take smaller game but still be used for defense.
4. It needs to be a gun that you can shoot longer distance but be just as accurate up close.
5. It needs to be very low maintenance and require very few spare parts to carry for repair.
6. Over-all durability has to be very high.
These were the most important requirements that I could come up with. You might have some additional requirements that you specifically need your to fit due to differing circumstances. I have as of yet came to any conclusion on which weapon best does all of the above. I guess this post is sort of like thinking out loud and opening this subject for debate. I love weapons and have a great deal of experience with them but I don't know everything.
I have weighed the pro's and con's of many different styles and types of weapons and they all have their merits. What I am more interested in is hearing from you on this subject. Sort of like starting a thread on a fourm. Lets get a running conversation going on this subject. I learn a lot from all of you and would love some input on this.
